ok guys need ideas
Trying to promote my personal hobby site www.thebikereview.com
I have made fliers, biz cards, submitted to search engines and advertise the site all over my car and made t-shirts for the recent motorbike show at birmingham.
what other unique ways to promote aite could there be......hardest part of all...it has to be cheap, cheap, cheap

word of mouth. network. get friends to spread the word. use message boards, put url in e-mail signatures, have everyone do it. providing you have good content/design... it shouldn't be too hard.

make booby tassles and g-strings with your logo and take them up to the local strip clubs...

on a serious note... stickers http://www.stickerguy.com get a bunch of em made. then go to businesses that are related to what you are promoting (with me it's skateshops/skateparks etc) and ask to leave a stack of stickers there for the patrons of the business to take with them. many times they end up on cars or on random objects around the city (or if it's like me, all over the ramps at the skatepark!). hope that helps.

SEO
If you're not coming up in google under the topics your site is about , you need to ge to work on that... That could potentially be your easiest and least expensive way to drive up your visits/users
I think a list apart had an article on search engine optimization a whileback... have a look.

I like the sticker idea, and placing them at many local, public places gets you off the hook should someone stick one somewhere 'illegal'.
Take the sticker concept a little further. Is there anything a motocyclist needs, that you can have made cheaply. A logo'd washcloth to pop under the seat, cards with local fix-it shops on the back, bandanas, whatever something low cost that a motorcycler will hang on to. A nice 'baby-t' handed out to girls at stripclubs would be a winner, but not so cheap.

mirola - yeah had a server issue last night for whatever reason, beyond my control
still working on the search engine stuff, waiting for all that to kick in properly, i did pay for some google ads which did pretty good but like isaid the budget is tight, this is coming out of my pocket until i can convince advertisers i get good traffic and response.
more ideas please
