xrusos has a 17" but I guess he is shy today. he loves it and wouldn't trade it for the world. He's only 5'9", 155 or so, but he has no problem luggin it around. I'm jealous of him, then again, he's my brother and has the cooler tech gadget. Damn Grad Student wallet of mine.

It's because i'm strong like bull.
but really, 6 pounds isn't that much to lug.
i recommend http://www.booqbags.com for a bag. my 17" bag/sleeve is perfect. (although, one2meny just got the 14" version for his ibook, and it's a bit skimpy on the pocket room... but the 17 is perfect)
yes, my 17 is my main machine... i have a big crt monitor in my office ready to plug in, but i've only used it once since i got my powerbook.
i've recommended to a few other NT'ers, if you're interested in purchasing a powerbook (or any computer for that matter), talk to my guy at PCMall (Dave Rosario - ). Not to say you shouldn't shop around, but he has always treated me well and given me the best price of the competition.
check the pv-an archives for other NT'ers who have bought through Dave.

I'm 5'11". My Powerbook is 17". Don't let anyone tell you that you can have a screen that's too big. They might as well tell you it's too fast also.
You should know that the advertised 4.5 hours of battery life is the very definition of a lie. Figure on 2.5-3 hours.
Keep the packing material that comes on the keyboard when you open it the first time. I've heard of people getting keyboard marks on their screens.
All in all, it's a fantastic machine.
