i think.
I have been at my job for last 4 weeks and i love everyone here and i love the environment. But i totally feel disconnected from my job... so I am deciding to go back and start looking for a new one. and do some freelancing in the mean time. (Unless they have another position available for me that I feel like trying).
I was trapped at my last job that i hated for over 4 years and i am not going to get trapped into doing a job i do not enjoy.
btw, my job is/was as Marketing Coordinator.. and i want to appologize to all my peeps here for crossing the fense... I AM BACK, On Our Side.
I am giving my notice around lunchtime.
(I think my boss may have ready what i am writing here over my shoulder a few moments ago.. but maybe not since they didn;t say anything... hmmmm)

welcome back lost son.

best of luck my friend.
i'm freelancing myself and let me tell ya... it's nice. but it does have it's downs as well as ups.
you might want to live out the american dream.
go to work every day and do a half-assed job. look for other work and freelance all the while collecting a paycheck. then when you do find a new and better job you can tell your present boss to kiss your converse.
then you leave with the phone girls number and a cherry bomb in the office toilet set to go off in t-minus 3... 2... 1...

dont' quit. stick to it. its a tough transition at first. but the benefits will payoff. golden hours are coming to you my friend.
are there any enjoyable aspects of your current position? give it some thought and a little more time.
- mitsu0
that's a bold move in this economy. i hope this is the right decision for you. good luck!
- pascii0
btw. k0na_an0k, how was the contest?
- jevad0
already dude?!
you sounded stoked about that job...I would stick with it till after xmas mate - economy is slowly gathering steam....
- taragee0
i gave him 1st place ;P
- k0na_an0k0
yo pascii, thanks for asking.
i came in fourth place out of 8 dudes. i'm glad it's over but i'm looking forward to doing one again sometime early/mid next year.
- slinky0
i respect the people here too much to not tell them now and to wait until i find something new and then to just stick it to them.
i think i am in the best situation in life to be able to do something like this. i have enough $$ saved up, i have 2 roommates paying my mortgage and i already have freelance work lined up that pays me more hourly than i am making as Marketing Coordinator.
i will inquire if there is anything else here i can look into for a career, but there is almost nothing about my position i enjoy enough to stick it out.
- mirola0
//sounds like you're doing the right thing. i'm doing the same thing right now. working for a paycheck, doing freelance on the side. then early next year i'm gonna bust meself out guns blazin' with me undies on me head. or sonthing like that.
- mitsu0
yeah, slinky, can't you wait until after the holidays? seems as though finding freelance would be easier in the new year.
- slinky0
i already have freelance lined up to keep me busy. at least into the new yea... and i think it will be about 30-40 hours a week.
plus, i have set the wheels of action into motion. sent my boss an email to see if we can meet for lunch to discuss a few things.
oh, did i mention... my commute is an hour each way? not bad considering my last job was sometimes 2 hours each way... but not enjoying the work you are doing makes that commute SUCK more
- honda0
yeah, long commutes add to the agony.
well, my friend, things will work out. just don't put all your eggs in one basket. at least with a 'desk job' there is security in knowing that financially, things are covered, if, by some slim chance, things don't work out as expected with your freelance opportunity.
in event, best of luck.
- jevad0
sounds like you have your mind made up!
go with it and good luck to you!
: )
- slinky0
yea, it is made up. and i will be fine for atleast 4-5 months... and probably more if need be.
i am sure i can find a job 5-10 minutes from my house that i can be equally miserable in if i wanted to not like what i am doing.
;o)
- mitsu0
yeah, let us know how lunch goes...
- slinky0
hehe. hopefully it will go down and not up.
;o)
oh, my other fall back plan is to play in the World Series of Poker and to win it all... No Limit Texas Hold'em BABY!!!

tell me - what is a marketing co-ordinator- what do you do and where do you work?
- slinky0
"we" try to come up with creative ideas/concepts and then let outside designers conceptualize and design.
