I am looking to buy a drum machine, most likely an older roland MC-303, anyone have one, or a related product to share about?
I'm gonna be using it with my novation K-Station synth, just wanna make some good tunes.

I have exactly that one you are looking to buy.
Actually the 303 is more than a drum machine, cause the drum sounds its probably a 30% of the sounds you will fin there.
I love it, and I had it for over 6 years now, and I still use it with my computer.
The only negative thing it that the knobs dont transmit midi information to a computer, besides that.. its great

awesome, thanks. my friend has it, but doesnt use it with a comp, just live. it sounds great. I know its more then a drum module, thats just what i mainly will be using it for since i have my synth. maybe use the bass on it also.

If I was looking right now, I'd probably go for the Akai mpc1000.. I have had an mpc2000xl for a few years, and it has served me well. Although Im selling it to become more computer based.

check this one out too. best drum pads on the market. I used to have the 1200 but had to sell it. I'm saving up for this one.

get the Roland mc505 if you can..i have one.
it is nice because you can sample/sequence with it and it has a d-beam sound modifier.
it stores sound info onto ZIP

Actually, screw all those devices. Hook up a Roland R-8 MK II. Tight machine.....and you can get them relatively inexpensively.

Ive got an R8. Ive had it for about 5 years now. Its a great drum machine.
There are a lot more products available nowadays. But if drums is all you need the R8 will be a good fit.
You can find them pretty cheap now. I paid $700 for mine new.

I figured you where looking something that has a good value for not too much money..
I see people here that are asking you to spend some more..
if its for that..
why dont pay this guy to play with you?

The Akai is your best bet. Its sampler based so you can load anything into it.
Your not limited to the sounds in the box like you are with a true drum machine.

Im not a big fan of the R8, you are limited to the built in sounds,, and i thought the sounds were a bit thin..once again i would go akai.. what kinda music are you doing.. that could make a difference too... i do more downtempo and sometimes darker tribal trchno trance(its hard to describe) and the Akai is great, but doesnt really serve my needs for the style of music i do. The akai is grat because you could sequence your k station with it, i used to play live with my mpc2000xl with my keyboards and synths, and stuff.. its cool for that too...once again if i had a choice now i would get the cheaper more compact newer one..
