Anyone feel like posting theirs? Linking good ones? I searched the PV-AN but a lot of the resumes I found were outdated or bad.
The design is almost 3 years old with updated content. So you don't have to take it easy.
Also, add if you have used this resume succesfully in getting a job, and other such details. Thank you.

I would like to see some for wording purposes also, such as:
I made some shit.
Implented powerful..
I agree with you, but I think it would be good to see some resumes of damn good and well employed designers. Help us weak ones.

I went with the mini-portfolio / pdf and a resume. I don't if they qualify as great but they have been effective.

in all honesty just make it clear, no typos, your work experience should speak FOR you. it shouldn't be some "grafik experiment" people that have to look at lots of résumés (creative directors) will chuck over-designed documents in the trash.

Sauerbraten.. I know people here are always sarcastic, but in all seriousness what do you?
You seem to be speaking from experience.. any work I can see?
Just to get an idea of what kind of work / resume gets what jobs..

grafiske, i'm a graphic designer like most in here, i've been working f/t for about a year non-stop and don't have the need for a continuous portfolio, alot of people that start working f/t hours don't have much time to work on 'experimental' and 'personal' work, you're getting by doing client work (granted, it doesn't quench the creative bug most of the time). you can see my old ass portfolio, hasn't been updated in a long time at http://promo.remotectrl.org
i just know alot about what to do and what not to do as far as getting your foot in the door, and usually overdesigned sites or resumes don't cut it. if you want to work for people that are impressed by the latest greatest trend in design, then cool, but seasoned designers and creative directors can usually spot inexperience pretty quick. a good handle on typography and concept-based design is what better firms/studios are seeking.

jason, your current résumé looks great content wise. you have to remember to that people you might be sending this to might be wanting to print it and photocopy it for others to read, these technical issues usually warrant a document to be B&W, it has to be very clear with high-contrast, you can achieve a really nice design using maybe two typefaces and altering weights for subheads, titles, etc.

Sauerbraten,
i had a look on that website of yours. Did you travel through Europe with those guys?
Where did their equipment get stolen?

grafiske, just a note that one of my past teachers would've poked at - work history, recent to past from the top to bottom.

oh, yeah BXCAR, i went with them, me and two pals, we were there for 10 weeks, i brought my laptop cuz i wouldn't be able to keep all the photos on CF cards, that's mostly the reason, but then i made a site for people back home to check out. check out the route VIEW thing at the bottom, how sick would that have been for all 10 weeks, that was only 3.. we visited 17 countries. pretty damn fun.
