C'mon Janne, OSX cannot be considered a good example of minimal design...
To be true, in the field of '2 Much Eye-Candy', Apple is second to none...

I love apple
I love PC's
I love paper clips and small children that dribble on your shoes on the subway
I love their pikey mothers that laugh
And I love you.

osx looks like a multicoloured bubblebath - I think it looks really really nice - but it's not minimal design. and yea i do think it's overdesigned - just like xp. But xp looks bubbly and nice too - it's just all too much.
bring back dos, now that was something I could work with - the straight edge lines, excellent colour use, nice gradients and so on.

yes, dos is the way forward...er

Don' tbother even critiquing the interface because i'll bet you a million it won't look anything like that in THREE YEARS.
but I think we can all agree it's fuckong hideous, regardless.

Somebody said they should make one gui for children, for designers and for grandma. That makes a LOT of sense. I mean look at people's desktops, icons, browsers and whatnot - almost everybody customizes the button sizes and overall layout and stuff. Somebody at MS should really adress this at a meeting. You can customize the hell out of Windows - but it's time consuming. They should put in a profile manager:
"How do you want to work today?1. Like a kid?
2. Like a designer?
3. Like grandma?"How hard can it be?
