iPod 2.1 Warning

Dont update to 2.1 firmware for ipod...
everybody is having horrible problems with it.. mainly that of the battery meter is reading wrong and to boot, the battery is now only lasting like 2-3 hours after the upgrade.

Apple appear to be having some premature ejaculation problems with there software.
same with iTunes, a critical update 4 days after release?

Kinda confused here.
Im on a mac running Panther
I ran software update last night and I picked up "iPod Software" 1.3.1WTF is 2.1?

oh so software update downloaded software i didn't even need. great.
I have my ipod upto date. batterylife is the only problems?

contrast issues too, and some people are getting some serious erros , such as it doesnt restart up..etc
but the battery problem is big.
2-3 hours compared to 7?

iPod software 2.x is for 3gen ipods- the newest out. 1.3.x is for 1st and 2nd gen. If you have 1.3 on your 1st/2nd gen dont worry about 1.3.1- it just provides greater panther compatibility, and I don't think it will even install if you are running anything less than panther. Fetaures are identical to 1.3. As for 2.1, that I think provides support for the new accessories they just released.

2.1 works fine for me, better battery status and faster menu "scrolling", i am on panther too.

i think it works between 6 and 7 h by normal use (no gaming, etc.).

That 2.1 update is only for iPods that come with the cradle charger. (3rd gen.) I have the 2nd gen 20 gig model.

After further review I rea;ized I have no problems w/ the update
I have a 10gig docking iPod
No problems and I love the fact that my on the go playlists are saved now. It works great bat. life is still like 6hrs Maybe you guys should reformat you iPods before updating. Thats what I did only because I had problems before the update. Now everything is great.
