Just finished an HTML site for a community center and wanted some feedback. Aside from the templated style subpages (deadline) and lack of content on all the pages what are some thoughts? It's already live, but still being slowly updated.

nice job, it's really very appropriate for the client. what's the sans font you're using the small nav buttons, it looks great at such a small size, nice little additions pixely things, it's got great balance and itsn't too much designy and not too dry, nice work

hey, without www it works fine...
- stewart0
strange... isn't it?
- sauerbraten0
worked ok for me, i'm on OSX10.2.6 + Safari

site looks ok. but i don't like a typography detail:
combination serif headings and sans serif bodytext...
and the capitalized NOVEMBER etc...

Thanks sauerbraten. The client wanted a classy museum kind of feel so that's what I came up with. They seemed very happy. The font on the nav is Myraid at 9px capped.
Stewart, that is strange. It doesn't seem to be an issue for me....

issue...
typography or the loading thing?

Stewart what browser are you using?
- stewart0
IE5.0 / Mac Powerbook G4 / OS 9.2.2

i disagree stewey, combos of sans & serifs work very well, however, it might be BACKWARDS where serif should be used for body (cause it's easier to read) but combos of sans/serif can result in a very elgant/refined look

sub, did you do the logo too? in that case, i think it's a little tight between the words 'street' & 'square'

i think the look and feel fits the client very well based upon what you wrote. its clean and classy with a bit of a museum feel like you said. nice!

exactly sauerbraten,
i think this is something you see most in US designs.
for example, they (US "designers") also like to use the TRAJAN for bodytext.
- sauerbraten0
hah, Trajan for body, whoa.
however, i believe there have been scientific studies that have found that eyes get less tired reading long paragraphs when a serif font is used rather than a sans.
- sauerbraten0
but to be more nit picky, i don't think the little 8px grabber thinga'mo'bobs on the nav buttons do anything.. try a 45? arrow instead!

I did do the "logo", although since they weren't happy with their current logo and didn't want it on there, I just came up with a type treatment. Youre right though, it could use a little more spacing there.
As far as the serif/sans serif text body copy, I had seen another site using Georgia or Times headers with a sans body which I really liked so I tried it here.
