If I were you Mr. Sauerbraten, I'd save money for DNA, 1015 Folsom, Paradise Lounge, 111Minna, SnoDrift, CatsClub and POPscene. Or even go on a boat rave, like Bulletproof. You should want to see the carnival-like club scenes, and be able to be a little drunk at them. Saving some cash and finding clothes at Wasteland, Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads isn't bad. They're getting all the recycled fashionista clothes anyways. Any ALDO shoe store there will have tight ass shoes. Or you can just go to the Sketchers store. San Francisco, its a consumer's paradise! Its hard to zen-out over there. If you could go without one extra pair of obnoxious shoes, explore the seedy side of SF. Go to a massage parlour, or to some of the erotic joints in North Beach or on O'Farrell and Larkin Sts. Its not all about clothes. Experience that shit. Its what I'd guess all the radical muslims would think is the capital of hell. With Mayor Willie Brown starring as Satan, and all the homless as his minions. Have fun! Man, you're going to have a blast.

yo,
I'm in SF and I love, love, love it here.
I work all freelance doing web/flash design & illustration.
I hit a lot of live shows too - there's a calendar on my site of some of the more excellent stuff comin up.
For shopping you're set if you hit Valencia St. in the Mission..
Yerba Buena's good to check out - and Metreon's all right if you've never been there - but as a local I steer clear - it's sensory and crowd overload - ug.
whats your story kickflip?

Aerobar and club6 and Lingba Lounge were good. Club Pow, VSF. It was the shiz. The Top, Nicky's Barbeque. And Squat and Gobble in the morning for breakfast..........
San Francisco is the shit. But something that is the shit, gets burned out after a while. Like a super hot girlfriend. After a while, its a complacent comfort, not anything new or exciting. At that point, trial separation. Like a designer's work, we have to get away from it -->to see it as it really is, distilled from its essence, pure. SF is a clusterfuck, but a good one. Well, I envy you all who are excited about it. I was there once, in art school, loving it, with the drugs. I'm happy for you, really. Pat yourself on the back. Enjoy it to abandon, but don't be disappointed once it doesn't do it for you, because you'll feel loss and regret for what the city's come to made you expect.
You should have been there in the mid nineties just before the boom. Wow, jobs everywhere, now I know how the autoworkers in detroit felt when the model T first hit the scene. Hot shit times. Now a bastion for the hungry for 'supercool'. I'd still have a sandwich on Montgomery and Market on the Bart Station steps with a sandwich from Lee's, though, checking out the hunnies in business ensembles, or the art school chix. Kicking it with my bike messenger homies. Good times. At least I wouldn't mind if Alioto became mayor. MAybe I'd move back...maybe. At least make sure you check out ________________________ http://www.fuckedparty.com Mr. Sauerbraten, valuable info.
