In Austin it's all rolling green hills, clear streams and rolling green..

Actually texas is the only other state in the usa besides cali that has more major metropolitain areas per square miles.
Lots of people have misconceptions about Texas. Although there is lots of natural resources and beautiful landscape, we are a highly progressive state.

Hey Jonathan I mean lover. How is my best friend in Dallas doing today?

Texas probably has some of the most diverse landscapes of most states. Piney woods in the east, small mountain ranges in the west, the Gulf Coast and Gulf Plains, etc.
I was fortunate growing up to get to see most of the state's regions, so much I miss about those places.

there is a site you can join and participate in, http://www.texasflashers.org.
Myself and a few other people started that when I was in college at UTA.
They are actually looking to get some more things going right now, and we had an ad in the SXSW magazine a couple years ago. Go have a look.

I love that stretch of highway 20 between Dallas and El Paso.

word
why is so hot in Austin. It is a breezy 82 in Houston...? We do have a cool front coming in. Notice that I said cool and not cold...come on now you know how we do it in Texas. We have no fall or winter. Hands down though this is the best month of the year for weather. It is like Cali.

thats cool but I mean a serious Austin only visual communication community. Have you seen the Dallas Society of Visual Commicators?
http://www.dsvc.org. This is serious and they even do job postings and design a regular book.

well, considering what happened in Austin when the .com economy fell apart, I bet you can find a pretty sizable group of people you're looking to meet in the unemployment line.

There is plenty or work to be done in Austin (if you go after it right) (and if you dont have to hav an "employer".
It's been alomst 3 years since I was laid off. Getting by my doing contracts and freelance, trying to start a business.
