This isn't the first time a request for a DV recommendation has been asked on the PV-AN, but it's never really been answered all that well.
I am considering picking up a digital video camera to use in creating fun little videos and to learn Final Cut and DVD Pro with.
I am a bit biased to Canon over Sony (I have Canon G3 camera, Canon scanner and Canon printer). and I don't like all the Sony proprietary shit... but if the camera is better for the money than I am open to it. I do own a Sony Clie which I like a lot.
Any recommendation, experiences or evanglizing is welcome!

I've heard a lot of good about the canon DV series (DV40, DV65, etc)... but I don't own one (yet)

vwsung18t... do you like your purchase. is the JVC nice... why did you get that one over the Canon or Sony???

for $3000, you can get a HD camcorder and have change http://www.buydig.com/shop.php?p…

i got it because it got good reviews everywhere and it was $300 cheaper than retail from a good reseller (buydig.com). I haven't used it that much, but so far, it has been good with the things I needed it to do.
the real test will come next week at my sister's wedding
