Baby thieves, or so I've heard. Hope the lack of sleep was worth it - how far have you got with the site and when's the interview?

i really don't want to shit talk here about xylem, but my friend who helped start the group could talk your ear off about certain back-stabbing techniques favored by said company -
i really shouldn't talk like that here though =(spire from what I understand is pretty top notch
i'm kinda out of the loop right now - stopped working down in denver a while ago now, and am trying to forget the xperience for my own personal reasons
best of luck to you
maybe barnhart/CMI too?

versa, I thought you were me and got confused cos I was sure I hadn't replied to this thread... sorry still asleep.
Oi Nic I thought you were nearly done on that site? It's good that you have such a tight deadline cos otherwise you'd do as all designers do, wasting weeks/months polishing pixels... when I have a lot of time I waste most of it in design decision making purgatory!
best of luck :)

cheers versa - much appreciated! Feel free to drop me a line via email if you want to talk some more shit! ;)
Kim - if you knew how long I'd been trying to just *start* this damn site you would laugh yourself silly!

I don't find it a problem. But mine isn't online right now. Treating a portfolio like client work is good. I rush the design so i can get down the pub and then look at it when i get back, and sleep on it. Then change it in the morning and hey presto....
a bag of shite!
Bugger.

Made mine start to finish in a week 2 years ago. The only reason I was able to make all the decisions so quickly was cos I had just been made redundant and had an interview the next week, for which I needed the site - and I got the job :)
Have been trying to update the photography section for 6 months now... if only there were 6 more hours a day to sleep in!
Don't look at it as being something you'll have forever, that way it takes some of the "precious" pressure away...

i like this one - not a design folio, but still dead simple. my next one will be like this - one page of text and maybe some pics

that is nice...one is starting to feel that one has gone a little over the top on one's portfolio in terms of color and form! hahaha
I'll post something up this evening - I really need the feedback...

I got the same problem. havent updated my website for 3 years, and even then it was never finished. Iam now looking for new work and I need to redo my site entirly. There just aint the time I'd like to do it in. Wanted to do it all in flash with ton's of actionscript. But that just aint practical. Ive then opted on keeping it all html with about 5-6 pages.. Know what? thats even now taken 3 fuckin weeks just just perfect an idea which ive kept going back and changeing.
Finalized the idea today though, its totally fuckin crazy should get some attention I hope....When Its done.
