Why are they 1,000,000 times harder to do than client work!
God I would hate to have me as a client - I'm such a design nazi and anal retentive dickwad!
I wish I didn't care - but:
(a) This time I know it's going to mean the difference between getting an interview/job in denver, and not....
(b) I wouldn't be much of a designer if i didn't.....
I have to be up for work in 4 hours...

Get away from the computer. A good idea will come up, sooner or later. Coherence above all, make it your personal signature, not a conglomerate of 'cool' imagery/scripting.
Then return to the computer.

I have a design - it's just deciding what to do with it.Simplicity, form, and function are key - but I would also like to showcase what I can do....Believe me it's nothing like a conglomerate of 'whats cool in the web world.'

Been working a new one for about 2 years. It's been revised so many times it's not even funny. I just never got around to finish it. If I'd treat myself as a client I'd have my sorry fired.

love the confessional nature this thread is taking on. mine took two years. I pulled the plug on different entire interface/ideas just before launching - twice!
