Ok... I have a very strange situation...and I don't know if it is from some new trojan that is going around... but today I noticed that I can not search anything on yahoo.. it just blanks out on me... then i try going to google, and it takes me to some green page that says Cpanel on it. WTF??? Anyone have a clue? (yes, I do run an antivirus program)

rename your hosts file. run adaware.

caca... i even tried doing an online virus scan to see if i could clear it... and nada!

anyone know where I can get the microsofts security patch (think it's MS03-040 828750) related to this - but not by using windows update?
ie. a direct link to a file?

Thanks Sexypixel, but that's a tool to remove the Trojan if I'm correct. I don't have that virus, but I'm looking for an update for windows related to this.
They do provide a link on that site, but that's to windows update - which I can't use do to security settings.

sorry, dunno, microsoft will always make it hard. you'll prolly be forced to do a 50meg download just to get the 200k fix

That Linux/Mac comment is crap.
Most hackers could program viruses to rip them a new hole just as easy.. they only reason they choose windows is because of its scope and the number of users. And to take down Microsoft.
Dont be giving that .. if you had a mac thing... thats a load of bunk. You should be saying...
If Mac was as big as windows.. we would be lucky enough to have hackers care so much about us that they write viruses just for US!

right on... ok so I ran this symantec trojan removal...and it says that I am clear of this trojan... but its still doing the same thing :( ugh!
