I had mention a friend who had an arch internship in Delft. After arriving and living for three weeks or so, she found out she cannot receive a visa to work for 5 months maybe.
Is the Dutch goverment restrictive on giving visas? She is coming from Poland.

I worked in the Netherlands for a year until about 3 months ago.
you need to get a company to hire you, and ask for a verblijfs document for you.
It takes between 3-6 months to get it (usually more towards the 6).
Then, when you get there, you still can't work until you get approval from the foreigner police (yes, I know).
It took me 3 additional months.
It was definately not worth it. Worse carreer decision i ever made. I never even want to go back for a visit. Everything is unprofessional (except, maybe for Dutch type foundries). The Dutch are very nasty to foreigners living there.

Poland I am assuming isn't in the EU then? If they were, I mean can you not just work in another EU country? I believe there are tons of Poles in Deutschland..?

I was working there in Amsterdam as an architect for 1½ year and I didn't had any problem, mostly because I belong to the EU. You maybe find it more difficult if you're from outside EU, but Poland is a recent member so it may change on your behalf...

NOT! Well, at least not to Latinos. Portugal ♥ Netherlands ♥ Portugal.

I found Nederlanders to be quite nice to me when in Amsterdam and also Belgians very nice to me as well. Some of my best friends living in Africa are Dutch-blooded are Belgian or Belgian-blooded.

Thanks for the words. I actually have nothing against the Dutch at all. I spent a minimal amount of days there and found them to be accomidating for the most part.
I am asking for my friend by the way.
Thought it sounds like the one gents situation was similar to my friends.
Poland is not in the EU yet. I think they are the next on the list or something.
I think that if I search for one in Germany it will be tough, but maybe an easier visa situation than Netherlands. And I thought the Germans were tough ones.

Unfortunately I think the situation is getting worse regarding Visas all over EU. Portugal &Spain used to be an 'open door' to enter Central & Northen Europe but not anymore.
I have this couple best friends, he's Portuguese and she's from Jugoslavia and she's having a hell of a time getting her Visa every 6/5 months in Germany...
good luck.
