I upgraded to Studio from EDU Dreamweaver 3 > Dreamweaver MX with no problems.
______________________Apparently the old upgrade grid is discontinued with 2004. If you have Studio MX edu you have to pay full price, no upgrade. = $999

we're gonna get 2 new G5s and upgrade to the Adobe CS and MX 2004 merely for bragging rights. We're not even gonna use'm.

Big difference getting them at work as some of you are. My shit at home is getting old.
We have MX at work and I can't see them springing for another 1 year later.

any info would be helpful :)
the $699.00 price tag almost makes me believe that the purchase of one package would allow for distribution among at least a few boxes, but it's hard finding liscensing info on the macromedia site to validate this.

Flash MX 2004 Pro has a ton of improvements for developers. TONS. I was lucky enought get on a gig that requires 2004 Pro, and it is awesome. If you write software with a Flash UI, you need to get on the stick and buy MX 2004 Pro.
For design, I don't think it's a necessary upgrade. Go to the website to see the differences between pro and regular. I think Pro has more components and more data classes, so it's really aimed at us developers.
In general the UI is a bit cleaner, the tabbed file interface is golden, and a few UI details make it pretty sweet.
Besides, upgrading from a legal copy of 5 or MX is only 299.

Well I'm more of a designer, and I will say I agree.. this version is def not aimed at the designer. They dropped the normal/expert mode from the action scripting to just expert mode. Also I dunno if its just me but he components suck asshole. But as far as the UI .. big big change. I recommend if your going to be working in flash more and more, go for it. But if you only need little things in flash done, its not enough of an update to run out and grab it.
