Are you guys getting MX 2004?
Do you know if Flash pro has all the features of the regular version as well?I wish they didnt come out with another version already. I was just about to but MX. This costs more and I dont have 10.2.6.

i have it, not sure about the pro / standard differences though. To be honest, i haven't even learned all new featuers yet. :)

Im going to wait awhile. Just like I did with MX. Didn't slow me down, plus it gives developers a chance to play with the new features before I crack it open.

I'm upgrading tomorrow, I imagine pro will have all the features of the normal version.
Seems like a few weeks ago I was upgrading to MX! Money, money, money, money....

I'm getting it....since my company is paying for it... :)
I'm looking forward to dreamweaver's new CSS support!

I need to get OSX but Im waiting for panther. It seems like it would be stupid to buy MX now. I hate the way they come out with upgrades so fast, usually without many significant improvements.

Flash Mx 2004 is an awesome upgrade. Very much improved since the last update. I've only had it for a matter of days but was easily able to adjust. They did alot to the UI which makes it alot more comfortable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Watch how you upgrade. I accidentally ordered Studio without Pro and had to upgrade, and I know I'm not alone. Built-in Components and Class definition in ActionScript have been overhauled.
Ah, the learning curve and prices we pay as designers...

I just called Macromedia and Flash pro has everything the regular version has. They dont have MX plus anymore and the upgrade grid has changed, for instance you cant upgrade from an edu version anymore.

Dunno whether to trust the advice from someone called cockDiesel ! (no offence!)

so we're all in the dark about the differences between Flash Standard and Flash Pro.
want to upgrade soon too and Im not sure which to get. Im more of a designer that relies on components for heavy actionscripting.

Flash Pro has mobile device support, production management software, it has open API development tools. It's VERY different from the standard FLash version. The Open API is the coolest thing.
- mikeim0
so you think a designer could easliy work in it without being overwelmed with developer tools.

can you get pro "just in case" you need it sometime and still work as in the standard edition?

I upgraded to Studio from EDU Dreamweaver 3 > Dreamweaver MX with no problems.
BTW - BIG performance improvements for OS X.

hmm.. i really liked the actionscipt window, with easy access to the scripts in all the movies, but i think it works to slow...
it's a nice detail with the tab access for the documents as well.but i'm sticking to my "old" flash mx

I've got it. I like it. I haven't looked through all the new features yet.
Many projects I'm working on are still calling for ver 5 or 6 player compatibility in the project specs though.

i thought that pro just has extra video features.
i want to upgrade but hell, mx 2004 and adobe CS? i just dropped bank on the Dual G5, no upgrades for me.

How many people are getting both MX 04 and Adobe CS this year?
I sure can't afford them :(
- auricom0
luckily i can just get the upgrades but only if i score a hefty freelance gig. it would be about $900 to do both. sucks that Adobe CS doesn't come with Acrobat 6.

I'm going MX 2004 in 5 minutes.
fuck you very much, Macromedia.
