you know how when you draw in flash it "renders" the stroke. that is neat.
ok.
are there any vector "drawing" programs, with brush and the like, like in flash. that's all i need. i don't have flash. ok.
i'm in osx by the way. i doubt it. but yo, that would be hot.

Vector programs like Illustrator has tool options for the paintbrush and pencil where you can set fidelity and smoothness of the tools, so that it 'renders' the stroke

yep, illustrator.
forewarning: it doesn't behave exactly how flash does it, it tends to render the line a bit more precise. Flash tends to straighten curves...which is cool if you want to draw straight lines, not cool if you don't.
Illustrator however doesn't have an equivalent of flash's brush, so you can't just paint a blob photoshop style and have it render into a vector automatically.
ok.

damn, i hate illustrator :D
freehand has variable stroke.. but i dont really know how it works (it doesn't seem to).

Variable stroke rocks, and yeah it works.
Tap left and right on the keyboard while using it ;)

I never heard someone hating Illustrator before. If you have a wacom you can vary the stroke, based on pressure.
Drawing in Flash, instead of Illustrator is like trying to get to the moon with a sling shot instead of a rocket.

thanks for the tip quik! i thought it would be random.
and i don't like illustrator.. because i use freehand. :)
drawing in flash is great!

Drawing in Flash is indeed great. People told me I was wrong to prefer FLash over illustrator or freehand when it comes to drawing (mostly cartoony stuff). After a few years of this, I now am confident: Flash is the best.

There is a feature so instead of rendering straight lines it would do it with curves, and it works great.
I also think Illustrator is the S*it to draw, but Flash is VERY easy.
Its more pencil like, if you are good drawing on paper, flash is THE way to go, way faster. I use it sometimes, quickmasking and stuff like that.
And besides the power of the artist is not on the medium, if you are good drawing, you will be good doing it with everything. If not...
well you might not be that good then :)
