Could some of you fine and experienced people give me an idea of what positions would be okay for me to apply to. I am clueless.
The ones I am wondering about: Creative Director, Senior Designer, Art Director, and other similiar titles.
I just finished college, and when I start to apply I will have done 15 weeks of an internship at a fairly succesful ad agency.
So I do not have years of work experience, although I have been doing this for 7 years.
Share your thoughts, please.

fresh outta school, ya gotta pay your dues as junior designer. doesnt mean anything bad, just a title.there are exceptions, but generally, that is just the way it is.

i think the general rule is that 5 years of out-of-school work qualifies you for senior design title, but it just depends on where you work, and how good you are.
it is all relative to skill mostly. time is only part of the equation. just dont expect to be art director right away.

its tough enough to find a job nowadays, dont think too highly of yourself...the job market is over-saturated with high talent...if you want to apply for some art director positions, go ahead...but my guess is that you end up in a junior designer type position....

I was offered a Creative Director Job with only 2 years experience. It was for a large corp and over 110k per year. I didnt take it cause I had been at that corp for 2 years (where I would sometimes go 2 days without sleep) and they wanted me to fire all designers and art directors. all my friends. Point is, once past senior designer, its more politics and delegation than design. In fact, your design skills are completley secondary the higher you climb the pryamid. More about who you hire, inspire, and relate to. And your ability to solve relationship problems.

More to the point...
I will hire you as art director if you can do print, video, 3d, interior design, architecture, programming and IT. I am tired of spending half the day restarting servers.

yeah, its easy... do you know what playing politics is? read the whole post ;)
to bad they dont teach that in school
- spendogg0
werker - i know about politics all too well and how to play the game - I just cant believe that someone, no matter how good, would have obtained the necessary skills to be an excellent production artist, much less a creative director.
