Yep, thanks to BT we don't have a lot of options over here in the UK. BT have been too stubborn to let other providers into the market. And they throw a strop when someone wants to use their lines.
So we're stuck with limited options. I (reluctantly) signed up for BT Broadband at £27p/m for a pretty measly line. Couldn't get NTL in my area so I only had one option.
What makes it worse is their customer service is shoddy.
Britain isn't really plugged into the 'super highway' yet despite thinking it is. But then again, we haven't bought a new train for 30yrs...
Too damn old skool.

I'm pretty happy with the provider i have now, it's more expensive but better support and uptime.
