ebay...

they're just as expensive on ebay!
- muftak0
there's probably a cheap one for sale in a pub somewhere in north london.
Some fekkers broke into my house on friday night/sat morning and stole my ipod, digital camera, mobile and wallet. Still...not as bad as my mate who had his car keys stolen...followed shortly by his car.
Take note good people, don't leave your carkeys in an obvious place...even in your own home!

Cunts!
Were you in at the time?
- muftak0
yep...but at 6am on a saturday morning, and 5-6 stella s on friday night...didn't hear a thing. the bedrooms are on a different floor than the living room.
what i would've done to them if i had caught them in the act!!! They could've been 6ft 4 gorillas, i would've still tried to rip their fucking throats out!

fucking sucks james - sorry : (
myt mates had their bikes nicked saturday night.
I hate thieves - absolute cunting bastards

cheers jevad.
thing is that they will never get anywhere near the price i had to pay for all the stuff...or will have to pay to replace them. Which i doubt i can afford for a long time. They'll probably just sell them on to someone in a pub for the price of a couple of pints. probably same for your mates bikes. And the thing that really, really gets me is that there was a full memory card of photos which i hadn't gotten around to downloading of my last holiday with my now ex-girlfirend.
not something i can get again. :(

Lost photos are sad but as for the other stuff - insurance?
- dstlb0
Get insured, they were suspiciously generous with me when our place was done over. Definitely worth the premiums.

I would advise buying an iPod directly from apple, i know a couple of people who have bought broken, and hollowed out iPods on ebay.
Either way a new one is worth the money, its sturdy and frankly worth its weight in uranium, at least to me.
Also the warranty is really good if it breaks, they'll give you a new one on the spot in Soho.

i got mine on ebay for $150. just be sure to buy from someone w/ a lot of good feedback and who takes paypal for the extra insurance.

I still havent developed a taste for them, I love the way they look, and the fact you can use it as a hard drive.
But still is a high compressed audio format, (less quality) and the fact that it restrict you to upload music to another computer is unnacceptable to me.I do like mp3 files to listen to them on the computers speakers when Im at work...
But music is very important to me, I rather have better sound than storage space.

what, ipods lower the quality of an mp3 when you load 'em onto it?
- ganon0
also check the "special deals" section of the apple online store for a deal on older iPods...:
- mitsu0
meeklo, you must have super human ears then, because most of the what's removed from the original source of an mp3 is what is not audible to the human ear.
also you can encode mp3's with high sample rates and bitrates making them virtually indistinguishable from cd-quality audio.
- leBeat0
maybe a bit old fashioned, but i prefer minidisc. not that expensive ...
and, be honest, when do you listen to 7 hours of music?
- ScooterRash0
get one. very simple. yes, the audio quality of an mp3 file isn't the greatest, but most people are using ipods in noisy places anyhow, so any drop in quality won't make that much difference.
i got mine a little over a year ago, and it has been invaluable to me. the abilty to throw stuff on it at a friends house, and then take it to mine to work on it etc. is great. any yes, there is software to upload music to other people's machines, i do it all the time.
my advice, get a nice case for it, and write it off as a business expense. go get one.

I actually do listen to music for around 8 hours a day when I'm at work. The computer at work is pretty slow and listening to mp3's takes up a lot of resources. I really should get an iPod or Creative's version
