Not seen the Ring. Way too scary for me, I see way too much into movies like that and get really horrified. (I'm a girl when it comes to nasty thoughtful horror! lol)
I was behind the sofa when I watched "The Others" last week with my wife, and she was turning the volume up and trying to scare me.
Then, the other day I get home late from work, she hears me come in so, she sits in the middle of the floor in the bedroom with the lights out and a sheet over her head holding a puppet-looking thing in her hand. Bitch.
I nearly cried.
She was going to do the voice but she started laughing at me.got a courtesy b**w-job later though...
lol

at least u are a happy couple..that's nice to hear :)'the others' that was a good one.
btw do movies in JP have subtitles?
rock on.

most are in English at the Cinemas and they have Japanese subtitles.
If you buy DVD's here they have choice of whatever in the setup.

Thanks for all the input (both related and unrelated) guys. I'm going to be visiting Tokyo and Kyoto mostly and wanted to check out the coolest spots as well as the best toy shops and sneaker joints. Anyone have any suggestions on those?

I love japan.. I bought allot of sneakers there...
dont miss 'omote sando' district in tokyo, there are allot of nice shops.
also go to tokyu hands, its a crazy bricolage mall, where you can find everything... there is one in shybuya...I would love to go there again

Hey Koro,
Village Vanguard is defintly your place for books and Toys. There's two of them in Tokyo: one in Kichijoji and one in Roppongi Hills.
http://www.vvvnet.com/Zac Pac is the greatest too, you'll find it in Harajuku.
http://www.zacpac.ne.jp/top.1.ht…About the sneakers shops, you'll find them everywhere. Try anywhere around Harajuku, or better yet: get off at Ueno station. You'll find that there's hundreads of shops under the trainstation, all lined up selling clothes, shoes and those darn trucker-caps.
For how long are you staying?

this was my bible while in Tokyo.it might be a bit outdated at this point. But a good starting point.
Be warned, shit is sometimes mad hard to find. There's a whole different concept of space there. You gotta go in places, wander around, go down alleys, lots of hidden treasures off the well beaten paths.
Daikanyama is very cool. Akihabara is the spot for electronics.
Roppongi sucks...too many foriegners.
the bape cafe in aoyama is a must. good luck finding it.
As weird as it may sound, after about a week in Tokyo, the T.G.I. Fridays in Shibuya will be your favorite place in the whole world.

Thanks for the links Peter, too bad I can't read Japanese. I'll just ask around. I'll be in Tokyo for 6 days and Kyoto for 4.

I was wrong about Village Vanguard, apparantly they have even more shops. But the Kichijoji one is great.
To get there, take JR line to Kichijoji station. Once there, ask for "Tokyu", that's a big department store. Behind that department store you'd find Village Vanguard. But you better ask someone around there, because it's one floor down :/
