If I save a file from Illustrator as a pdf all my vector graphics or outlined fonts look jagged.
Why's that? Thanks.

Dunno.....its happened to me a few times. Try exporting as an eps and taking into quark!?

Anyone else?

If it's Acrobat 5 Reader you can go into preferences and turn on outline smoothing. Not sure why it does it, think it's to do with vectors/EPS and compression. But then again I may be wrong...

vectors in pdf look always crappy. print the pdf document and you will see is nicer than on screen.
print rules. screen sux! ;)

See what I mean:
http://www.olbindesign.com/test.…I know it prints out ok but that's not the problem. I need to look good on screen.
Surely someone must know how.

if you only need it for screen you should export it as jpeg, or import the eps into photoshop an then export the pdf. like this:

That does the trick, thank you very much, lebeat.
Not an universal solution though as the print quality suffers now.

Acrobat is nearly a total failure as a platform. You get what you want about 50% of the time. I work with it all the time. It's so shocking, considering how good Adobe is at everything else they do.
