WTF
Who cares!! If a designer, designs something isn't it up to them if they want to use it or not. So many complainers.
Oh my god i forgot how to use the esc. key. Stop the crying already.

no one's crying. it's just annoying.
i don't know one person who just sits there with no negative reaction when their screen unexpectedly goes blank.

just provide an option for normal mode, or warn the user.
it only takes a few seconds for the designer, but most of them are lazy.

Bear with me for a minute here: There is a difference between an artist and a designer.
Artists can basically remain internal and harness 100% creativity, without really having to please the needs or desires of the public.
On the other hand, designers should have an external mindset, and communicate with the viewer. Obviously, since our job is to communicate, than it unwise to alienate the viewer to an extent whereby they don't even bother to understand the message being communicated.
In essence, what I'm trying to say is that while a designer has the freedom to use whatever they want, functionality and communication must take priority over creativity.
Anyways, I hope I made some sort of sense.

I don't mind it if the site is engaging. Using fullscreen can give the site a darker tone, it can actuall change the mood, just like when you watch a DVD at fullscreen. The problem lies when you go fullscreen and your site blows or is not engagining or overwhelming with sound or visuals of high quality.

This debate is rather worn out on NT, there isn't much we can say that has not been said before in the other fullscreen threads that have been posted. It's usually just a few guys going back & forth about what they like or dislike about fullscreen. How would you like it if all browsers and scripts eliminated the ability to use fullscreen. Im sure a few of you would be unaffected but reality is fullscreen has it's place and can be used efectively.
We could sit here all day and post examples of good use and horrible use. unfortunately most cases would be bad.
