the shallow end of the gene pool is to blame.
- jox0
here we go again, blame talented people for others stupidity. They would've done something else if GTA hadn't been there.
- unknown0
just idiots.
like the everated duke of edinburgh once said.
"If someone clubs a person to death with a cicket bat, do you ban cricket?"
- jaybee0

nice quote kk

guns (games) don't kill people -people kill people.
and in america - where you can pop into a fucking Kmart and buy one - it's pretty easy to see why shit like this happens...
america really fucking scares me sometimes.....well...most of the time these days....

you cant blame them or rap for shootings.

If it's really about that, then why sue the publisher (lots of money) compared to the guy who designed the combat engine (not a lot of money).
Of course, there's always the parents who left a damned rifle lying around and didn't teach their kids how to be act responsibly around impliments of death.
- jaybee0
exactly.................
they ARE the people to blame (parents)
- save0
...or the people who 'make' the guns!?
- lowimpakt0
could they not just say they are acting out what they are seeing on the news everyday. I mean war is pretty violent isnt it?? If its ok for the government surely its ok for the kids.....
Blaming video games is so idiotic and simplistic. arrrghhh it really annoys me.

People will always want to blame something or someone. That's where religion is so convenient. And here in the US, religion and guns go hand and hand.
It is, most likely, due to their lives, but as Columbine showed us, being poor or neglected is not necessarily prerequisites. There are a multitude of reasons why things like this happen. While I would never suggest that people should use anything as an excuse, especially when violence is involved, but I don't think anyone one can deny that movies and video games give kids ideas. The accessibility of guns is also a factor, but they are a fundamental part of our country and won't be going away in my lifetime.

this proves one thing: some parents shouldn't be allowed to be parents.

I'd agree that the game was probably an influence. But, let's face it, the parent's were likely thick as pig-shit, stuck in some inescapable cultural void and fucked for the future by the government.
You'd be as well to 'ban imagination' rather than look a little deeper into the world as it is before pointing the finger.
Education, Education, Education.

They wouldn't be able to do it at all if they didn't have a gun lying around.
- Nairn0
Pfft! But what about the SECOND AMENDMENT?
("Um... change it?")
