I have promo kits that I send out to potential business's.
It consists of 3 one-inch buttons, a business card, and a resume.
Do you think that if I tried to sell the promo kits to the public that anyone would be interested.
Something like 3 or 5 dollars a piece.

why would someone pay for your resume and business card? maybe I am missing something?

Well actually I have got ten people from livejournal and a few from the renascent forum.
I wasn't really trying to sell the business card and resume as much as the buttons.
I know a few people that have done it and was wondering what people on here thought or if they would be interested in buying them.

I'd say if you're selling something like that don't call it a promo kit. I think people assume promo material is just that, and free.

Out of curiosity, how much did it cost to develop the buttons?
Do you see people actually wearing them (and not just friends and your little sister)?
$3 or less sounds OK. $5 is too much unless the design for all three is beyond amazing.

actually for the buttons and business cards it cost me around $150.
I don't know, I know alot of my friends have bought posters and such off of angryblue and dubastic.

well i wouldn’t pay for it.
it’s promo, that means for free. at least for me ...when you’re one of the *big ones* maybe people would pay for it.

unless your buttons are absolutely fucking indisputably divinely touched beauty then I dont think people will pay, people who wear buttons/badges do it to affiliate themselves with some kind of movement (music/politics or something that shows they are part of a group), its either that or something controversial/funny like a porn shot or something. I cant see people wearing a badge for someones website.
If they were in a store you would stand a chance of an impulse buy but not on via a site I dont think.

I have actually made about 15 dollars off of them so far.
not to bad, but I am and didn't really expect to get alot of money out of it.

hey put it this way, if I already had forked out on the gear I'd put them up for sale - nothing to lose afterall :)
get your marketing (AARGH) head on and offer something for everyone - cant you just printout and 'punch' as they are ordered, right?

I ordered them to get made, I have well over 250 left. I am just trying to earn a little extra money for college.
I figured that there might be people out there that want to help or like the buttons.
