Going to new york next week, can anyone fill me in as to essential exhibitions to check out, design, grafitti etc. Also any names address of cool bars, resaurants, trainer shops or links to NY guides would be useful

1. Friday Night at Washington Square Park...all the musicians and film students come out of the woodwork to sing and smoke dope. It's our tribute to Piaza San Marco, or Place de la Concorde.2. Yaffa Cafe (St Marks, 1st). Open all night. Amazing food (Get the berber chicken or avacado salade, w/ carrot dressing)
3. 34th Street NRBD subway stop (Herald Square). Cool little music maker hanging from the ceiling. It's hidden, but look for green. It's a lot of fun.
4. South Street Seaport (fulton and south street). Get the Mussel plate at Sequoia. Eat outside w/ a fantastic view of all three bridges at night. Antique chinese junk ship in the harbor.
5. Central Park's Cherry Hill or Shakespeares Gardens. Peaceful respite for a picnic. Unbelievably gorgeous, even amid the shadows of commercialism.
