can you please explain to me why the same tools in different programs have completely different shortcut keys
for example the pen tool in illustrator is always P
but now in after effects its "G"
WTF is up with thatand i still cant figure out how to join paths in the new AFX

At least you can use your apple key. I've been forced now (kicking and screaming) to use the Alt key. It's a sad, messed up world.

you can but it means going thru the keystroke file and if you ever wanted to work on someone elses machine youd have to go thru the same process

G was always and still is the pen tool in AE, you just learned one after the other.
they changed the Airbrush in PS from J to B, after 3 versions.
in Illustrator you can Shift+tool to toggle tools with sub tool whithin.
in AE 5.5 on X since it was a classic build as well, you could still use Cmd+m to make a movie, now is Cmd+^+M to make a movie, and cmd+m hides the window.
theres so many more, shut the fuk up and stop whinning , if you cant adapt, natural selection will find you.
if you have a problem with it, write them a letter, im sure you paid for all your software, this isnt the place to cry at.
if you cant adapt thats fine with me, someone else will replace you promptly :D

Jazx, stop making things up. Adobe is not abandoning Mac. They just stopped developing Premiere for Mac because they couldn't compete with Final Cut. Good riddance.
As far as using masks in After Effects, you can copy and paste from Illiustrator to After Effects as long as your preferences for clipboard in Illustrator say keep path.

i only dislike that Adobe didnt make ATM for x, the font situation on osx for me is HORRIBLE.
im so glad that fontbook works so well, and that the seraching methods are better than ATM's but is not released yet, and is been hell having to use Suitcase.

Maybe i have low standards for font management, but I think Suitcase is fine on OS X.

its easy to join in AI select 2 ends of a path and press
apple+Ji wanna know the equivalent for AE
but it seems like you cant do it
