"I'm going to settle this once and for all. The file extension for a gif is pronounced with a hard 'g', like goat or grease. While this chap may say otherwise, logical nomenclature dictates that if there is another file extension which sounds the same (like 'jif') - no matter how uncommon - a differentiation should be made. Sorry you 'jiff' fans, but I'm overruling you on this one. The english language is confusing enough, and we don't need webdesigners strutting about declaring their own pronounciation of words just because it reminds them of their favorite peanut butter."
