I know you guys are going to get mad cause I started yet another Donnie Darko thread, but too bad.
I just visited the neighborhood where this was shot here in Long Beach. Very strange place. Dark. They made it look very nice in the movie.
The movie is great. My all time favorite. I can't seem to get enough of it. I love how the people involved, got involved to make a movie like this. So many different points.
Anyone else visited the location?
A cult classic I am sure.

how do you get to the neighborhood in Long Beach??
- freshmode0
Do you live in long beach?
If so, find Long Beach BLVD and San Antonio Drive. Head west on San Antonio Drive. Make a right the first chance you get. On the last street you have to make a left once you have made your right, make a left.
Drive straight. Jim Cunninghams house is first and on your left about 3 blocks down. Then Donnies is almost 1 block down on your right. It is a corner house.
Pretty trippy to see it up close.

I seriously don't see all the fuss about this movie. It was original and interesting yes, but not amazing. That's just me.
- bgheen0
it was the best re-telling of the Jesus story EVER
- Mimio0
That's funny.
- pr20
no, it wasn't original and interesting.
- freshmode0
yeah... you guys are just to intelligent for that movie.
Is anything original these days?
How cares if it is original or not. It was well made and is the type of movie that makes sense when you watch the dvd.
I suppose you are also going to say that 2A sucks and that their design is too trendy. Huh... shows how much you know.

you gotta watch DD twice to get all the details unless you have some sort of slow mo mind function. It's definitely one of the better movies
defending 2A in any situation proves that youza fresh herb

As Drew says in the movie...
"It was meant to be ironic"
The movie isn't for everyone. It's one of those, either you like it or you don't. Not many folks are in between.
I'm going to watch it again tonight.
fresh!

The first time is ok, it comes off weird and don't really understand it.
the second time, you catch on and get what it means, or what you think it means.
then after that it bores the hell out of me.

Can't believe there's actually artistic people downplaying the genius of this film. Perhaps you should take a long hard look at the values you search for in a film. Just because it doesnt make obvious apparent sense to you, doesn't mean you need to bag it!
I Apoligise, I'm iintoxicated, and a little frisky. God help me.
Peace out... I'll regret this

people who like Donnie Darko are people who played Magic The Gathering in high school

the rabbit scared me
- pr20
yeah i have bad taste.
i also can't belive that artistic types wouldn't like Gangs of NY and like LotR. DD might be a bad movie but it pretends not to be so some artistic types might like it.

like I said, its ok. but only after two times. after that it bores the shit out of ya.
