hey guys listen:
For your information a person from India or Afganistan is also an Asian and what I'm looking for is pictures of people from the far east: china, japan, Korea or such. If the term oriental is considered a racist word in your countries I'm sorry about that. In mine of the common way to refer to ORIENTAL people.
GET IT????
If you don't offer help you DO NOT need to reply this post
OKKKK??

Im sorry to inform you that your concept is wrong.
When he said "oriental" he is meaning people from the Orient Hemisphere, where as you probably know china is geographically located at.In some countries Oriental is the preferred term, and asian, could result in an offense.
Just letting you know :)

"Oriental" is a term which has negative connotations for many Asian Americans because it reflects European and American colonialistic attitudes of the past and present. It is also a term that has always been used to exotify people and products. i.e. Exotic oriental teas/women/attitudes/customs/foo... A general rule of thumb is "Oriental is for rugs, not people." Besides, no one uses the term "Occidental" to describe white folks. Additionally, "oriental" is a term which describes location in respect to Europe (and to England specifically). "Asian" is in respect to nothing.
