You know when you visit a site like yahoo or something and all the sudden an animation takes over the window and moves freely above the site, and you have to wait for it to stop.
What is this? It cant be Flash right?

Does Flash MX support transparency?

Flash spamasturbadvertising.

ok.. but how are they getting the background on the flash to be transparent?
- unfittoprint0
in the flash movie html parameters:
wmode = "transparent"

"transparent" doesnt work in all browsers. there is a plug in for flash where you can export the swf with no background

I have built quite a few of these little suckers...sorry about that..it pays the rent.

alright..thanks// so its a plugin. it really bugged me not knowing how they were doing that.
I think its a nice way of presenting... but only appropriate on certain sites.. like when I was on yahoo incrediable hulk tore through the screen and started acting crazy... but it was neat because when he punched something the whole browser shook. Thats cool and all if i was looking at the incrediable hulk website ... not trying to find an address real quick on a search engine.

I hate those. X

it's an app for making them transparent out of the browser, but not for in the window... even when laying over the top

no plugin needed... in your params, put wmode tranparent, and you're set..
you'll need to detect browsers though... i think it only works on IE PC.
and yes, they're really really annoying.

my bad. compatibility was the issue. its been a while since ive dealt with those buggers.
