I reinstalled: didn't help!
I even removed everything Safari related (and lost my bookmarks!! :(( )...
and reinstalled.. but still...

safari 1.0 suck, they rushed it cos they got scared when microsoft discontinued ie/mac.
wait for v1.1. perhaps?

return to the good old IE.

Use Camino, or Firebird, or Mozilla. Bask in the glow of fast page renders and standards compliance.

never heard of them exotic browsers.. (except for Mozilla),but I will look 'em up.
thx, Chris & others...

you're welcome :)

i'll bookmark this thread for the next pc vs mac thread when you're pulling your "mac's don't crash" lines.
:P

I've been using Firebird for a few weeks now. It rocks. I hardly ever use IE anymore. Tabbed browsing & a built in pop-up blocker are just 2 great features

No problem with Safari here...
How long had you been using it?
- ********0
since it's very first beta... used them all!!
I am sooooooooooo pissed at Apple now, cuz in the rush of fixing Safari i deleted a folder/file where the bookmarks were stored.
and the bug-report button is not anymore since the first (non-beta) version was released!
and I don't feel like mailing Apple either, cuz they don't respond anyway.
fuck it. i am going to bed. >:(

GOD!! I am so glad to hear this is happening to someone else!!
It's doing the same thing here. Only on my Powerbook though. Not on my desktop system. WTF!!!
I even installed that Safari Enhancement haxie but nothing!!!
Arrghh!! Back to slow IE....

Just search for "Safari" and find it. It's got some hacks to get rid of the site icons and brush metal look. I've tried everything you did and more and it still just dumped for some reason. Maybe it was one of those Apple Security Updates?
- kpl0
screw ie. go to camino if you have to. http://www.mozilla.org/
cy, look under the view menu in safari, the bug button is still there, just hidden.

You can backup your Safari bookmarks automatically using iSync or .Mac backup

There is a Solution....
You can search Apple's support section for safari to make sure i got this all right... but....
I think you just have to change Safari's standard font. Something about Safari crahing because times romans font file gets messed up. Go to Safari Prefernces, then Appearance, then change Standard Font to something like Verdana (similar).
It worked for my safari hickups.
