come check out my final transaction as i officially wash my hands of those greedy bastards. look and laugh, but please don't bid unless you really want this crap for some reason. the less money the winner spends on it, the better i'll feel.

PS if any of the CDs listed strike you as extra-sucky, then chances are i received it as a gift. :)

"If no one bids, then I take the rifle in the picture (a .22 caliber bolt-action Remington, not included in the auction) and play the world's most expensive game of skeet shooting."
Don't sell 'em!
Shoot 'em instead!
Video it!

this has got to be one the BEST ways that i've seen to this day on screwing the RIAA. (or at least cleansing yourself in the process)

"this has got to be one the BEST ways that i've seen to this day on screwing the RIAA."
er...he's already bought the cd's and therefore given his hard earned cash to the 'corporate f®©kers' already, what do they care if he destroys his worldly possessions?
It'll be a diffferent matter if he took his gun and shot a load of execs instead of cd's.
- mummer_10
"what do they care if he destroys his worldly possessions?"
i'm not destroying them, they're being sold. don't playa hate.
come on, more than one can play! round up your corporate rock, grab your gun and digital camera and make a statement.

Wait...how does this screw the RIAA? You've already paid for those CDs. This is like those people who started pouring out bottles of french wine they'd already paid for after all that US/France/UN bullshit. You should burn copies of the CDs and sell those. This makes no sense. Shoot 'em I say.
- mummer_10
where does it say i am attempting to screw the RIAA? also, how does it not make sense? rather than someone buying them new from retailers, they buy them (hundreds of dollars worth of crap) from me for next to nothing. i paid for them once, the next person who wants them won't have to.
a couple hundred bucks isn't going to make or break the industry or the RIAA; this is obviously meant to be a personal statement.
the fact that i'm paying for shipping ought to be a pretty good indicator of that. more than anything...it's meant to make other people feel like it's ok to do the same. throw the crap out and don't listen to it.i'm surprised and actually a little disappointed how quick a few of you are to misinterpret. we ALL hate the RIAA, rather than do something, you bitch. someone else comes along and does something about it, however silly and trivial...and...you bitch.
surprising.

if it's surprising to you that people on newstoday bitch, you haven't been here very long.
- octavius0
and so but yeah do you have any Halen?
- mummer_10
it makes me think someone ought to suggest courses in basic reading comprehension and critical thinking as required curriculum for designers.
- dessalles0
ok...sorry
don't sweat it
i guess it does make sense.
instead of buying them new someone gets them for next to nothing....i still think you should shoot 'em though.
if not, go to a thrift shop and buy yourself some vinyl. they're much more fun to shoot at since they shatter when you hit them.

Good man, I say! I just hope you're keeping recordings of all those records... I mean, getting rid of The Police?!
I just hope enough people actually see your stand...
- lvl_130
then none of us would be here :)
I like your ebay idea. ride this lightnin' metallica
- dessalles0
sorry if i have't reached you're reading level yet.
- Bluejam0
"where does it say i am attempting to screw the RIAA?"
Ask Jpea, he said it.
- mummer_10
ok, i tell you guys what.
i DID take a few copies of some of the gross offenders, Metallica and APC, to be specific, and did some target practice. Nothing fancy, just me, a .22 pistol, and some CDs. I'll post the pic of the aftermath when i get home.
let's just say my copy of metallica's "and justice for all" met up with some justice, alright.
- Bluejam0
Video it!
You could broaden your stance with a music video where you, the star, shoot cd's with yer .22.
There's enough creatives here that if you ask 'em nicely, they might help you make the video...
...next thing you know, David Letterman. Then the world.
- dessalles0
you should make a run to a sporting goods store. i've seem some skeet launcher for sale for pretty good prices. though i think the cds may be too light.
- mummer_10
if it was a video, i'd break out a shotgun or sniper rifle or something. a 22 ain't big enough for video work ;)
to be honest, i own the newborn "local independent label" that i'm donating the proceeds to (i hope to buy a nice bag of sativa). this wasn't meant to be affiliated with the company in any way, and i'd prefer to keep it separate (what indie label would admit to owning van halen CDs?).
anyone interested in throwing around video ideas (not limited to traditional "music videos", either), though, email me. my homie lou and i have a few video ideas we're throwing around, but i could probably stretch myself out a little further.m
- jpea0
honestly, does no one here actually comprehend posts?? man, when i wrote "this has got to be one of the BEST ways that i've seen to this day on screwing the RIAA", no one seems to take notice of the next sentence "or at least cleansing yourself in the process".
doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out (none needed, it's blatant), that this means that it's NOT a good way to screw them, but rather is a cleansing process for your personal self.
morons.

Cool!
