yeah?
wow to be contacted by burton to be offered a job is great.
wonder why they pulled the plug?

Minge, Good luck in what little you do and good luck with the english classes. You really seem to be making progress.
I had been contacted by Burton for a Sr Designer/Team Leader position back in April.... Then they pulled the position! Talk about being broken hearted.
I guess I'm one of those long in the tooth old farts who is a JOAT-MON.

I hate when people post an ad for a designer and then just toss in copywriting ability as a job requirement. It's as if being a designer is such a light-weight profession that you should contribute more by having another.
Aside from that, I think it's a little suspect to want a Flash/print/Creative Director type of person. This sort of thing is more likely in a smaller company where they don't understand the business that well. It shoudn't be happnening there.
Also, I would be concerned that all the good design work gets farmed out to an agency, while the person they hire mops up and gets low pay.

That would be my absolute dream job. Cool company - look at their attitude and that benefit list. Not scared of bold design concepts/ideas. All their products/clothing/collateral/cat... are the number one shit. Being involved in that would be pretty great. Shame moving from New Zealand would be so hard to do, anyone want to sponsor me in the green card lottery? By the time I'd sorted all that out and persuaded my wife-to-be the job would be looooooong gone.

burton has always had the kick ass sites. without a doubt..
sounds like the most kick ass job anyone could dream of. i'll be dreaming of it while i get another surgery this month from my snowboarding accident last winter! RIDE OR DIE!!!
Colorado kicks Vermonts ass.
and if you didn't know, for all you unemployed designers out there - this would be a very ideal job - fuck other people's image - build your own! Be Burton!

i dont think most designers here dabble in packaging or pop or print at all for that matter. shit i love print most but i couldnt action script my way out of a wet paper bag. to be honest i dont know how anyone can get it all down pat in 1-3 years. package design is tricky i know, flash sites are as well i can only asume.
maybe schools are that good these days. not that the requirements are that far fatched, just my drunken opinion..
again :P
whoever can do it all is a badass and has been around the block for a while
