I'm so pissed off, a bastard client has refused to pay me. I did work for them in May and they still haven't given me my money. I have sent 3 invoices to them and nothing.
I have threaten to camp out at there office until I get my cheque in hand. Do you think that is ok to do so?
Anyway, if you get contacted from this company, run the other way!
http://www.76design.com/they are cheap and shitty. Dumbasses.

Also...'ART ZULU' nyc. Same thing. NEVER work for them-EVER!
- schjetne0
76design has got a really f¤cking great site, though.
What did you do for them?
- bmehalo0
get typex to post their logos on his site

I did a flash presentation for them. nothing big. Don't get fooled, they get people to work for them, and not pay you.

got a work contract? freelance contract? project contract? anything?
if not, i would hit them where it hurts... contact that customer and make them look like shit. In all reality the client probably won't care, but making them think twice works.
(i didnt tell you this)
they have a list of clients on their website... wouldn't be a bad idea to contact them all with a little "directed" spam against this co.

that's a good idea. They belong to this advertising group and I will contact them as well. They made me sign a contract before I started.
I don't know why people would go out of there way not to pay someone. They even gave me a project number and told me to bill them before the 2nd of every month. I hope they go under.

Contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.
I'm gonna have to do the same thing with a client of mine very soon. I've waited 8 months for payment and will know this week when the work is published or not how to proceed.
bastards!
:P

can you get them on the phone?
call the big big boss there and talk.
lettuce know what happens. . .
lettuce. . . i made a funny.=|

Happened to me too. Just walk into his office and sit in his chair and wait for him.
- SLAZ0
piper... is it for a lot of $$? I know that doesnt matter, but if it is a lot of cash, then maybe you should speak to a lawyer.
or you could go to the office and break that much $$ worth of furniture and stuff. Then we could call you Rowdy Rowdy Piper!
you should definately contact the client it was made for. Explain to them they received work and design that has not been paid for. This will shake them up enough to contact the deisgn company itself and well as make them look bad that they couldn't handle the project and had to outsource.

I would camp out at his office but I'm going on vacation thursday for 2 weeks.
It's only $330! no big deal, but I don't want to keep doing jobs and not getting paid, it's still a day's work.
I hate freelance sometimes.
thanks for the link Pixel. I will definitely contact them too.
- Bio0
i dont know specifics of the contract you signed, but it may not be legal for you to contact the client. *not to be a nay-sayer or anything*
330 bucks is worth the hassle. that is enough money that i would break someone's knee caps.
fight those fuckers. and make sure you let them know that you will be consulting a lawyer for legal advice on the matter.
good luck getting that shizzle back g-money.
=)
- backspace0
i hope you signed a contract.
i had this happen too. lost out on $1500 or so. it got to the point where it would have cost me more in terms of time and energy to fight them in small claims court than i would have got out of it.
good luck.
- piperboytoy0
thanks BIO. I would like to break his knee caps and other body parts too.
- piperboytoy0
I saved all my emails and did sign a contract. I should read over that before I consult a lawyer.
thanks guys for your help. that money will help me pay for my plane ticket!
- backspace0
thats so weak, they have job openings and all that, but they can't even afford to pay for outsourced work? even on the canuck dollar..
hey
piper
baby they got your moneyi'd seriously just sit there and wait.
- piperboytoy0
they've been looking since last october, I think they are regulars on NT too. I hope they read this! you bastards!
Well, there is nothing much I can do except sit here and wait. hate clients.
thanks for your advice
- JazX0
Bastards! That will not happen with me Piperboy, you can count on it if it comes through. ;)
- JazX0
Wow, you really did good work for them as well. I would literally stand there with a sign saying 'pay me the money you owe me'. The companies near them will make them feel bad about it and make them realize you want your money! Cheap ass pieces of crap!
- piperboytoy0
I know Jaz. this is the first time I had trouble with money since I started freelance. Hope it'll be the last. But I doubt it.
