anyone ever exported with success an illustrator document, with layers set to "multiply transparency" in it, to swf / Flash MX?
i know i can mix the two colors to one layer in illustrator - but now i can see little 'gaps' between shapes. Aaaah!
i hope there will be a "multiply transparency" function in Flash7..

/clear
[using damn jpg's instead]

flatten your transparency. You have no reason to keep the various transparent layers do you? Or export the entire piece out as a bit mapped file.

i already flattened the whole illustrator doc and exported to swf - now i'm filling all the tiny gaps between the shapes...
the gaps aren't always visible: not when you've fully zoomed in (+) to the object, but only on a few steps while zooming out (-)...
btw: why use bitmap in stead of jpg?

and what about the transparent swf in IE? That happened to me once and I have no idea why.

a jpg is a bitmap image

There are just some things you can do in Illustrator that Flash won't recognize. Layer modes is one of them. You need a workaround. I don't know if you need to do Mix Soft or some kind of Pathfinder or to do the same thing in Photoshop and export a jpeg.

uahhh? PNG's keep thier transparency on import to flash

I'm confused as to why you are using multiply transparency effects on items in layers in Illustrator. Going to be very hard to reflect that in flash of any version I would imagine. Correct me if I'm wrong but its a print-based feature for trapping I think...
hard to help out without more info or details of what you need to achieve, post the file somewhere and I'll look 4ya?

yes chip, it is a print-based feature - overprint.
got the illustrator file of a printed flyer and they asked me to make an 'online' version.
that's why.
but a multiply transparency in flash would be very nice btw!

I'd make a png of it i think

thanks Blo, i've solved it already with some illustrator hocus-pocus and an illustrator to swf export.
i'll post the result here after a few weeks when the "Saturday Soul Saloon" website is online.
