I like to have the correct album covers for my mp3 files. There are many apps out there that will display the covers, but you have to search (allmusic.com for example), right click, save as etc... to grab them. I got tired of that so I wrote a small app called Thelonious that will find the covers for an artist and allow you to download the image to your hard drive. please give it a try and tell me what ya think. Just kinda threw it together so the graphics are still being worked on.

Does it grab the track names and rename my files as well :)
Maybe for the next version eh?
I'll try it out when I get home, thanks for the dl.

thanks nl... that is really the reason I wrote this. Eventually it will edit your tags with the correct nfo (right now it just shows the track listings), just thought some peeps would get a lot of use out of it as it stands now.

musicmatch has a nice album art view mode

redFridge... is that only with the $20 version (MUSICMATCH Jukebox Plus)? Or is it a standard feature. It appears that this is something new that they are offering. Before it would show covers but you had to find/scan them yourself. Way to time consuming I thought

steeling album art? man. It's bad enough to steal from musicians, now from designers?

heh, its not stealing my friend, I really dont see anything wrong with it. I see it as celebrating their talents. Besides it is art and I enjoy seeing the covers. I wish we could go back to LPs. Album art was sooo cool back in the day....

Stealing by looking?
Perhaps you should pay Mercedes Benz for admiring that Kompressor you saw the other day. Maybe you should pay that girl for checking out her nice ass.
Don't believe the RIAA hype. Unpropagandize yourself.

I totally agree.

A lot of peeps have been emailing me with one simple question... WHY? lol
well its simple. Lets say, you have an mp3 player that has the ability to display album covers (ie musicmatch). The problem is that you would have to search various web sites for a quality image of your favorite album covers, copy, save as, etc... This method takes for ever. Well, with Thelonious, all you have to do is open the app and type in the name of the artist, select the album you want the cover from and click the cover once it appears in the window. Quick and easy. You would have to pay musicmatch $20+ for this functionallity. Soon you will also be able to instantly update your tags from within Thelonious.
