I dont like blink 182, or green day, they sound exactly the same.
I used to like ramones and some pennywise, lagwagon, etc.
I never liked sex pistols, even syd recognized they didnt know how to play. but well.

I think I just tend to not like things that are played on the radio at all.
Which isn't to say the stuff that isn't on the radio is automatically good.
Basically, I just think that it all pretty much sucks equally.

I'm not very keen on any of this new wave punck or whatever it's called.
Alien Ant Farm, Blink 182, Slipknot etc.They all sound like whinging rich kids moaning about their allowances playing to rebelling rich kids who will grow up to be accountants.

we all now who the real punk bands are... especially the ones that are on Fat Wreck Chords.. Some on Epitaph, and the countless other small record labels of bands that we actually listen to.
but i remember green day when dookie was released.. it was in all the college papers and they got big the following year. That cd is good as shiat. That was when 311 was actually decent when they put out Music and Grassroots. They are just shitty now.
Blink 182 doens't really anything for me, they 're just a band that my friends who don't listen to punk, think that Blink 182 is what punk is all about. blah.

311 was good, their first few cds are like soundtracks for being in high school for me in a way.
Some song they had on the radio last summer was just awful. It was so slow, it was like it was going to cave in on itself, just collapse.
There was a similiar song by No Doubt, lyrics are like "you really love me underneath it all"I don't listen to FM radio, but a place I worked had a radio on various stations during the day in the records center.

that dookie cd still blows away alot of the albums being put out today. Take out all the played out MTV songs they had, and it would still blow out alot of the crap on the radio now.
The radio industry has middlemen that pay to have songs at certain stations anyways, so it's funny that dj's think they are so money when all they do is read a script and play scripted songs.
What made me think of 311 was last night.. i left my ipod at home cause the stupid belkin's fm transmitter sucks.. so i had to listen to the radio. There's a new 311 song that was absolutely horrible. And the dj was trying to be cool and saying he didn't like them or Dashboard Confessional after he played each song. I'm sure he likes Linkin Park better.

you guys are funny, i love music snobs that classify something by how popular it was/is. green day is still pretty good in my opinion, been listening to them since 1039 smoothed out slappy hours came out. blink, i've never really listened to alot of their stuff, but from what i hear it's alright. don't let how popular something is determine whether or not a band is worth liking, form your own opinions.

music snob? there's a difference between listening to good stuff coming out of your stereo at your leisure, then hearing it out the radio nonstop. I've had so many friends tell me that this (never heard before)band sucks and this band sucks and then when it gets on the radio, they love it.
So people are fucking idiots when it comes to music. If it's not on the radio then they don't like it. And if it gets played on the radio nonstop, why would i want to hear it again? It's not that when bands get popular I stop listening to them, it's because it gets so played out I get sick of hearing it.
