RAP WITH ROCK

no hate. I love everything.

My personal prefrence is rock, rap is so hyped these days with the whole 50 cent and all this shitty MTV crap.
I guess now that I think about it so has rock, These days its really hard to find good music.
everything is so main stream and repetitve that its hard to find something that actually has some emotion and time put into it.
anyways, I feel that rap is so played out, its had its time and now its time for something else. I don't know when the last time I heard a decent rap album that had something new and unique about it.
As for the rap/rock rock/rap thing, I hate anything that mixes those two. examples- korm, ice-t,limp bizkit, hed-pe.
anyways, I would have to go with rock.

I agree with Iconolove... everything is hyped up and its hard to find good music, which is where my other thread comes in, TOOL. TOOL has music that has the emotion and time put into it...and the only rap that I like is the old shit like NWA and Eazy E
- Iconolove0
Agreed, some old classic rap is good, but now, theres a new rapper every five minutes.
Tool is good, more intelectual them emotional though. But I love that. You really have to read into their music to understand it.

both suck.
- Recoil2k20
'both suck'??? have you ever heard TOOL? I can understand how someone may not love to listen to TOOL, but they dont suck, no matter what kind of music you do like. TOOL is more talented than almost every other band these days.
- enobrev0
i know tool well, thank you.. actually i know the greats of both gneres and they're minorities by far. So far that they barely fit in any genre beyond 'good music'.
rock and rap both sold too well to stay any good.
- Iconolove0
Why does selling have to do with making good music?
- enobrev0
nothing, which very few people realize. The reason both currently suck is because they are maximized as product.
In the end all you have is product and good music, but comparing Criminal Minded to Electric Ladyland or Quality to Aenima is like comparing poetry to paintings.
But lumping such good music into categories with mass produced label commercials is silly to me.
- Recoil2k20
are you saying that Aenema is not good quality?
- Iconolove0
I agree with that, everything is very commercialized these days, but alot of the good music isn't, but still falls under the category of rock.
- enobrev0
Quality is a recent album by Talib Kweli. So no, I'm not saying that all.. One of my favorites actually.
But it is possibly that you might not know enough about current MCs and their albums to truly like one genre over the other.
- enobrev0
well as long as the category makes you feel better, i'm not one to judge.
- Iconolove0
Honestly, I hate putting music into genres, I mean theres so many that I don't see why they do it.
emo is a good example, emo stands for emotion/emotional, well all music in some way or another is usually emotional, so putting it into one categorie is dumb.
there is so many genres, rap, metal, nu metal, emo, emo core, hardcore, I mean the list goes on and on, but sometimes people think its easier to put the music they like into a category, or do it to make it easier for others.
To be honest, I will like what I like for me, not because it falls into a genre, thats why I think categorizing is dumb.
