Don't worry about these angry jaded designers, they are only sarcastic because the like you.
I say, try both and choose your favorite. Program-wise, you can get almost all of the same software for both machines. Just a question of preference.

Did you ever thought of Lindows?

do a search.
a legitimate question, but one that has been debated at length.

dood, if you're serious then do a search; if you're not, that means you need to go outside for a while because you're so bored that you have started to annoy people you don't even know.

Amiga....the memories.... geeez.

I am pretty new to newstoday, so I really don't know what has been discussed.
I have windows, and I heard that macs were better for designing.
Just a simple question.

Macs are far superior.
(i just want to set it off...)

You stated in your resume that your primary software for design is Photoshop, ImageReady, Dreamweaver, and Flash.. All above software is on both platforms and operates the same.

oh. you're new. I think everyone asks taht same question their first day on NT.
A good rule/tool is to search first. Most everything that isn't now-current has been talked about before.
Welcome to a really good site.
P.S. I'm on a pc.

I have worked with all of those and I have worked with macOSx but I don't own a mac.
I was just asking someone that might know if there was a diffrence or if one was better then the other at certain things.

Iconolove, you just need to go into the archive and look around first before asking some of these questions. no offense but this stuff has been hotly debated for awhile. its a stupid debate. I prefer macs but if your doing web stuff you need both. its all preference these days. no matter what ANYONE says. Im a huge mac fan and i can admit that.

Ok, ok, get a pentium IV, 3 GHz processor speed, 1 Gb memory, a good 19'' (21'' if possible) monitor, a 80 gb hard disk, a 48xCDRW drive (or a DVD+R if you can afford on), nVidia graphic card, Creative Labs sound cards, 4 collumns+subwoofer, WinXP Pro Corporate Edition and you're off to a good start.
I know I am.

I wasn't really sure how this site worked, I will from now on search to see if it has already been discussed.
