mrdobolina, I dont think computers save time so much. they might aid in finding a solution faster, but lets look at the quality of that solution. If we look overall at what computers have yeilded for designers, it is largely crap (less some real good work that utilizes computational limitations).
And, if we all threw the box away, we wouldn't be wasting our work time here at NT...

i'm working on a little flash editor of my own. After I downloaded the .SWF specification from Macromedia, I got really into it and the fact that there's no way to create flash content without proprietary software kept me going :) stay tuned for releases sometime in the start of fall!

Take away the tools and show me the talent, The population of newstoday would be full of amatuers. Graphic design was never about pretty pictures and flowing animations. Its main focus has always been the clever stuff. And clever stuff can be done in any medium.
- kpl0
"clever stuff?" what kind of vague and arbitrary baloney is that?
- unknown0
Computer didnt ruined graphic design in my opinion, Before computers, I bet there was the same percentage of suckiness and poserism. Tools and talent has nothing to do with each other. Again, in my mothafukan opinion.

well, though I must say, I work in any software as long as I finish my work and get paid. :D

Kpl what inspired you to use 45 degree arrows on your website?
Why the fuck does everyone still use it? Its either that or boeing 747's. 0.5 line strokes etc etc .. bollox bollox bollox.. fucking all looks the same to me.Clever stuff, duh yeah.. I sound like a dum shit who knows nothing? come on.. ideas, ideas are what its all about. You get a response from an idea that's got more to it than eye candy.. And Frankly you can go stick that fucking eye candy . This shit all looks the same now. Get your heads out your arses and do somthing different. Site after site is getting posted on here day after day its the same shit being churned out over and over again.
"Newstoday Loves you....Any why is every other fucker now useing that fucking slogan on there own freakin websites?
Digital donkey dung Loves you and so on.........

Open Source loves you...
- gotham0
hell yeah, OSS is gonna give Adobe and Macromedia a run for their money :)

in a recent slashdot article it was said that Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) would soon (2/3 years) be the standard for vector in the web. they're not licensed to a particular company, and could easily be mainpulated/created with simple software, hopefully open source.

gee, i dunno. because you see arrows in subways? Looks the same to you because you fail to realize context?
graphic design is about visual communication. It's not about entertaining people who need ritalin.

unfittoprint, that's basically what adobe wanted people to do with their LiveMotion software, only including swf support because of its popularity.
- gotham0
yeah, swf is here to stay. Btw, if anyone is willing to help me out in my project, just email me.
- gotham0
just not the email in my settings, i just used that to get a new account after my old one got scrwed up.
real email is
- sauceruney0
have you seen this site, gotham?
- gotham0
yeah, i've seen it before, it's cool stuff. Hopefully I can use their action script stuff in the future. Right now im getting basic shape and text support going and the GUi for the visual editor.

That's good news haha
Adobe should cease doing shit for Apple and concetrate on Windows platform only.

Adobe's not going to stop producing their other major software packages for the Mac as long as they still have a competitive advantage (which they don't in the case of FCP4 and FCPExp. That would be a business decision as stupid as the RIAA suing people who can't even shell out cash for CD's.
Don't fret, Photoshop 8 for Mac is nearing the end of its beta run.
