No I don't think I missed it. I try to be a good person and don't cause harm to others I just think that it's important (for me)to be present in life and not live for the possibilty of what comes next.

This life is not about being "good or bad" ... although i would hope everyone would choose to be good.
The point of this life is to have a relationship with God. A relationship that we can not gain on our own no matter what we do or how good we are.
God is perfect & unblemished and can not have a relationship with any human being at all since we are all sinners.
You can not mix something that is pure with something that is unpure and expect to still retain the purity.
So it is with God and us.
But God, out of his Love for all man kind chose to come to earth to live among people and to live a perfect life and to offer Himslef as a perfect sacrifice for ALL our sins. And by choosing to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior you accept His payment for all your sins and are eternally forgiven. Then you can truely feel what it means to have an abundant life in the present life.. but you also will have something that far surpasses anything you will ever dream of... everlasting life.

Can I ask - who here thinks of God as an 'entity', an intelligence?
I'd always thought that the bible, koran etc were all just bloated moral metaphors, alluding to 'perfection'. i mean, 'God' is such a meaningless, abstract concept - I wonder what people actually believe 'in'.

Good question Nairn. I don't believe in any kind of superior being but I do believe that the human brain has the ability to create the idea of the exsitance of one.

The idea that atheists dismiss "the evidences of intelligent design" because of faith is false. They do so because of logic. To say that an organised universe is evidence of a designer (i.e. God) leads to a vicious regress. An organised universe plus a designer is also organised, and therefore implies a designer of the designer. If this implication is not taken up we are left with the assumption that the designer must exist without being designed, and if this is a good enough explanation for the existence of the designer why is it not a good enough explanation for the existence of the universe?

It's no joke, sad to say. This guy travels around the country with his few followers and attends funerals of people who have died of AIDS and pickets the funerals with signs like "WELCOME TO HELL HOMO" and nice things like that...he was recently in Nashville. Pretty sick fuk.
