Nice.

I don't like that you have to click the cross on the first page to launch the second page. Just avoid if their is no info on the first page.
I don't get the point of the experiments done. They don't seem to make sense. I am sure they aren't supposed to make sense being that everything is "random" but I just didn't get it.
The site is clean, but the fonts bother me. Some are smooth, some are not.
Isn't that mission, everyones mission? Those are the only things that bother me. Clean layout.

i dug project 03, im working on a similar series of work.
the explanations seem to take away from the work itself, i dont think you have to explain what it is to make the user understand.
video controls please. and anti alias the type in project 3b.

nice design - not too kenn on the projects I'm afraid but I'm sure a lot of people are...technically grand..
bothers me too that you have to click that cross AND that you are targeting an swf - stick it in a html page so you have a nice title on the window instead of the link to the swf that is currently there.....

all i see is a white page with a plus sign (safari/os x)
- jevad0
click the plus dave

i think it's trying too hard.

The plus sign - have it open up in the html/swf page so it is in the right window, it'd make in more connected to the site (but I like it).
I agree that project one did not keep my attention, but I am looking for immediate gratification when I look at sites from here.
#3 is interesting - what bothered me was that the rect.s overlapped by a pixel or two occasionally, seemingly without a reason. I'd either keep them intentionally apart, or try to bring your '+' back in (that's the choice I would go with), and you could use that to add another layer once and a while to the piece. Maybe coordinate the shapes with the music more. It could be very nice (it's still nice, though).
#3b - not sure. This is where it could be construed as 'trying too hard'. It's a fine line when you docuemnt the process in such a literal manner. If you threw some sketches in there, it could break it up. If it's about process, show us the whole thing. It's a good exercise, I think, to do this kind of work. It's always going to get criticism that forces you to rethink and work more, but that's kinda the point - to get better at the process next time around.
I've been hoping to have time to do this 'experimental stuff' for ages...have fun!

all points duly noted... for when we get our lazy asses in gear to work on it again...
this was our third year thesis (woo GBC... ugh) so the whole point was to learn what we weren't taught in school as we went along... there was also a lot of thought put into the concepts for each project, but going into detail here wouldn't do it justice... we both knew some basic flash, but barely any actionscript and no clue on premiere or after effects (oh how fun that was....). if anyone can tell me how to compress that video better i will love you forever =o)
- mbr0
What did you use to compress it?
I am just about to purchase Sorensen Squeeze - it's supposed to be great and runs a tad over $100.
- 8dot30
the compression looks fine. but i didnt watch the entire thing and dont know how long it is to judge the file size.

8dot3, the movie loops forever. I hope we didin't waste too much of your time :)

mbr, i just tried to make the file as small as i could when i rendered it in after effects and then compressed the crap out of it when i imported it into flash.
i just think the file is too big and the quality looks all blotchy.
