no alarms seem to work for me either, so i text message my friend before i go to bed to give me a wake up call in the morning.
it's actually nice cos i get everything from beatbox raps to ssongs 'n screams to get me up.
waaay better than any old alarm clock!

the alarms in nokia phones are as loud and annoying as hell. and they get louder ever second ring.

timer clock on your stereo...
my amp runs 24 hours so it's always ready to give the speakers a good kicking, then before bed I set it to tuner and have the tuner on a good old time clock....
0645 every morning it comes on loud as you like.... :)

how about a buched of water on a rope, and then a motor hooked to your alarm clock and it would dump it on you when the alarm went off.

my suggestion:
set your alarm clock to go off at whatever time. wire it so that when the circuit completes to set off the alarm it triggers a mechanism to release the 20 lb. sledgehammer that was hanging above your nuts.
that should wake you up every time.
