no they don't. They just don't know any better. It is just like webdesign. Once customers have come to know good design, they are able to demand that too. Not saying all mainstream music/webdesign is all that bad. All I'm saing is that it may not really be worth the price.

blend3, agree with you as well. at last i think is just a mix of ignorance, a lack of knowledge, but as well a lack of interest, etc.... etc.... yeah, the y dont have or dont know anything better. but they search. we are suposed to be in the information era. everyone is able to find his own way. but most of them are just happy with the mainstream. i tried with friends several times, but they are just happy with that. and the same goes to the clients.

it's deifnitely not worth the price, considering how small a chunk the artist gets (as pointed out by a great link earlier in this thread).
Ideally the label would take a smaller cut in order to reduce the price of an album to a more appropriate cost to the consumer.

i had thought about the same thing unfit, and it's a good question..
it's actaully a good reason for the law to be reviewed in order to at least come to an agreement as to what fair use would be in this new era. But for now, it's against the law.
just like if we all decided to kill just one person, we would still be murderers, even though everybody's partaking.

oh, i know jg.. im in NO WAY in support of the current laws NOR am i by ANY MEANS in support of the industry as a whole.
i'm just trying to point out that excuses regarding why we should be able to break the current laws are useless.
