I paid more for the insurance on my first car than it actually cost to buy the shit heap... now that's just stupid.

It doesn't get much worse than NJ. I push around a 10 year old Nissan w/ 160000 miles. I'm 26, clean record. Over $2K a year for only liability,

You've got to have serious damage to make it worth claiming something on collision. Do some research and you'll see that it's usually not worth it.
My last insurance policy was quite reasonable.
I have a '91 300ZX Turbo, had collision (including fire and theft), for $1100 per year. And that was in LA. Not bad.
I've got a perfect record and I am 31 (I think it goes down a lot at 25 and 30). Just call around. I saved about 30% by paying in full, too.

Yes, I'm over it.

it has to do with your age as well dude, never play God with a snowbank, lol ;)

you must live in Massachusetts.

if you can, never claim an accident under a grand - especially if you hit a snow bank - cause you know the snow banks not going to have to go to its insurance company with a claim
unless, of course, you hit johnny cochrane's snowbank - then you're in big shit

you ppl need to shop around.
i had 2 cars insured last year at the same time, both w/ full coverage for less than 150/mo.
and that's with 3 wrecks (one of which i was responsible for).

mitsu: you can start by telling me who you have!

I have Geico & they have been pretty good. I paid $175/mo for 4 months & got 2 months free.
But i totalled my car 2 months ago.. so we'll see how much it goes up now.
but in mean time... i am shopping for Homeowners... know who's best?

kick ass. i just went with state farm actually.
cheaper than my lower rate WITH a free $25,000 life insurance policy on the side
