i've seen people driving with their mobile on one hand a smoke in the other and trying to control the car with their elbow.

I used to send text messages while driving until i realised i was driving half on the road and half on the footpath, try explaining that to PC Plod

when i had a car i could talk on the phone, roll a joint and eat a grated cheese sandwhich all at the same time. now i ride a bike around london and think there should be a 1 month jail sentace for using a mobile while driving.

It's great that they are cracking down on it.
Anyone know if NY ever passed their law? They were going to do the same thing.Wow, maybe we are making progress...fat taxes, outlawed cell phone/driving...who know's what else will come? An ignorant tax? That'd be cool ;-)

surely it's driving without due care and attention which i thought was a stronger penalty.
Being a father there is no way i would put my family at risk by talking on the phone while driving....but thats just me!
it's the boy racers that think they look cool to talk on the phone that are dangerous in my area.

impounding your car for phoning and driving, drink driving and for speeding in built-up areas would be a great solution....... then charge you for getting it crushed and sent back to you to dispose of......road safety would increase a thousand fold!
