o.k i must be a f/n idiot for not knowin how to do this.....when i make a selection, and want the square to have rounded corners, i go to>select>modify>smooth....then the corners are rounded.
so when i do this, the corners are ALL jaggedy...it looks like shit.
i've tried messing with a gaussian blur then bringin up unsharp mask, levels etc.....nothins been workin.
any tips?

why not use the rounded rectangle you find in shapes in the toolbox?

heres what i have so far... its for a graphical header in p.s
i have everything already done, so i just need to smooth out the corners.....
i figured to make a new layer and place it over the rest and with the corners smooth, then it would all look just lovely....but its not working....gggrrrrrrrr
suggestions?

the easuiest & fastest way to create rounded corners i to use the rectangle-tool (press U on the keyboard). If you dont want to "fill" the graphics you've allready created, youo can use the vector-mode of the tool.
Otherwise make som circle-selections, inverse selection and delete your edges.
good luck

or if you've got illustrator:
copy and paste a shape from illustrator... paste it as a path and edit it to your hearts content, then fill it.
