i went there in 96 i think. fucken madness, it waswhen they had the 3 rave camps, and at night the only way to get from one camp to the other was to follow the green lasers that conected them. fucken mad cyclig on a bike in the desert off your tits following a green lazer for 15 minutes. we counted the amount of different drug we were offered. 15 in total.
It was great but if had a been one day longer i'd be dead. Changed my perception of americans

i sat down with a few people at some camp and rested my beer on a table, started chatting, then turned around and the table was gone. next i saw the table driving around in circles with my beer on it, then a sofa on wheels passed me by with two naked chicks on it.
And all this was before i dropped.

hm...looks like a bunch of new age bohemian crap too me...
i'm all for art and creativity...but, seriously for the vast majority of people there it is about drugs, sex, booze and partying....
i won't discredit your personal spiritual epiphany, mate...but i will lay a bet that you're only one a few that 'felt' anything other than a hangover after words.
everyone i've ever talked to that went has only recounted tales of sexual conquest, and massive drug use.
it's hard for me to buy into the 'art' and 'creativity' of a festival where a lot of people only remember the party antics.
:)
plus, i'm too pragmatic and banal to goto something all "peace, love and spirtitual..."

sparker, some of the camps there would blow you away. the house of doors was one of my favourites, and the bigg furry bus with ears. there was alot of mad art when i ws there.
you can really tell the people who havent been from the people who have. as someone said earlier, dont knock it till you've tried it, a website cannot do it any justice.
but i do agree that most go for the drugs, but isnt that the case with most social gatherings noowadays
